‘Today’s announcement (5 October) that interest rates have
been left unchanged at 4.75 per cent is welcome news for
consumers,’ said Sue Robinson, Director of the RMI National
Franchised Dealers Association (NFDA), part of the Retail
Motor Industry Federation (RMIF), commenting on today’s new
car market registration figures.

‘The Independent Garage Association (IGA) wholeheartedly
agrees that access to brand-specific technical information for
independent repairers must be changed,’ said Ray Holloway, IGA
Director, commenting on a recent conference - organised by the
*European Council for Motor Trades and Repairs (CECRA) - where
manufacturers were identified for failing to give adequate
technical information to independent garages.
